About Us - Professional Trainer: Michael C.
|
Michael has always had a passion for athletics. At age six, Michael started his organized sports fixation with baseball and soccer. But by age ten, he became obsessed with the sport of cycling after watching his first Tour De France on television. That was all he needed to peak his interest and switch sports. Michaelimmediately registered as a licensed cycling road racer and, by the age of 13, he was competing with junior racers as old as 18. In 1989, Michael became the National Criterium Champion for the 13-14’s combined age group. Michael went on to take several top ten finishes in nationally recognized junior races across the country, competing against the likes of George Hincapie, Levi Leipheimer, and other current top professionals.
After graduating from UC San Diego with a BA in Economics, Michael settled into a career in the Financial Planning industry. But that industry proved unrewarding to him. Michael’s love of sports and his passion for fitness prompted his decision to switch careers. Starting at 24 Hour Fitness, Michael became certified through the company’s APEX affiliation and began honing his skills as a personal trainer. Combined with his own personal fitness experiences, Michael was a natural. Within no time, Michael made the move to Mr. Jill’s. And now, with over 3 years of experience, Michael has fine tuned his skills as a Professional Trainer. At this time, Michael is also currently seeking additional
certifications to enhance his trainer resumé.
Michael gains personal satisfaction by playing a role in the physical and mental transformation of his clients. His saying is, “Whether it’s losing excess weight or trying to make the varsity baseball team, seeing a client reach their goal is what makes this job so fun and exciting. That’s why I do what I do”!
